I’ve been wanting to change the color of my hair since last year. I’ve had black hair for four years, so I think it was time to make a change. That’s why I decided to use a hair color remover since these tend to remove the color without leaving it damaged.
Over the years I have seen many hair color remover brands and the reality is that the market has many alternatives at very good prices however I have always used the same, Color Oops Extra Strength Hair Color Remover!
For those who do not know Color Oops is a hair color remover that is mostly used to remove very difficult colors. I have used it to remove red, black and other colors such as wine.
Where can I buy it?
The best thing is that it is super accessible! Today you can find it in different department stores but I like to buy it at Walmart since it is cheaper there and you can get it for less than $10.

How To Use Color Oops?
It is super easy to use. The box comes with instructions, gloves and two steps. You just have to mix bottle number one with bottle two, shake it very well and then apply the color remover. Remember to open a window because it has a very unpleasant smell. If you are interested in seeing how I apply it, how many boxes I use and a little more information about Color Oops, I invite you to watch this video on my channel.

Why do I still have dark hair after using Color Oops?
There are several answers. The first thing is that my hair is naturally dark brown. The second one is that with this you will not lighten your hair rather it helps to remove the dye for this reason the result you are going to have is not necessarily the lightest hair. Depending on what color you had under that hair dye is that you will have the results.

In my case, when I used it, it remained natural brown on top with dark brown ends because the black was not removed completely and I didn’t want to do this process again since I’m changing my hair color again and it will require another process. Of course, I’ll share it with you so make sure you Subscribe to my YouTube channel! But the jet-blue black was mostly removed and for now, I’m happy with it. Since the result will also depend on how long you have had that difficult color and the condition in which you have the hair, everyone will have different results. For example, in the part of the roots I had the hair without dyeing and I also had less dye in the middle of the hair than in the part of the ends which is the reason why my tips when removing the color were darker. That is because in the ends my hair is more porous so it absorbs the dye much more than elsewhere and as you imagine 4 years dyeing my hair blue-black and jet black will never be piece of cake from the first try. For this reason, if I wanted to remove the color completely, I would have to use Color Oops several times (2 or 3 applications) or use bleach.
Current Hair Color:
Remember that Color Oops is one step closer to the hair color you want, it will not give you the final color you want because it is NOT a dye. Therefore, after removing the color you should use an appropriate dye for the color you want.
Remember that Color Oops does not eliminate orange tones or brassiness. That is because this product is not a toner. Color Oops simply removes the most recent layer of dye in your hair.
Remember that everyone has different results. This has simply been my experience using the product for that reason is just my opinion. In my case, I’ve had damaged hair, used this hair color remover and obtained very good results. I also had the hair as I have it now, very healthy and used the product obtaining very good results. That is to say that my experience using this product, in general, has been very positive and that is the reason why I am recommending it. If you used it, always make sure to read and follow the instructions that come in the box.
