It’s makeup time! The holidays are finally here and I couldn’t be any happier. This is the time of the year where I like to play with makeup and have fun with my look. That’s why today I decided to share a Holiday Makeup using nontraditional berry colors! But why berry tones? Well, I think during winter there’s nothing more bold and fabulous than a dark wine color whether it is in clothing or in makeup. I just love that looks great on everyone, it’s different, festive and if you ask me I think is perfect for any holiday party!
So… to see how I like to incorporate the color in my makeup, let’s start with the Pictorial! But first I want to thank Coastal Scents for gifting me these makeup/tools to create this look. They are probably one of the first makeup brands I discovered online when I started YouTube so they have a special place in my heart.
As I was linking the items I notice they were having a super sale and everything is 75% off! Yes, I know It’s B-A-N-A-N-A-S! So if you are looking to buy makeup to give as gifts for Christmas, this is the time!
Now, without further ado let’s start!
Face: First, I did my skincare routine! I decided to skip the foundation and instead I used the concealer palette from coastal scents to conceal around my mouth and under my eyes. The great thing about this palette is that you can mix and match and create your own perfect color, that’s what I did. I was very surprised by the coverage that provided, I think is a great palette specially for those who avoid using foundation.
After that step, I applied the second powder in the contour palette to set my makeup using a powder brush from the 8 piece brush set which is currently on sale for only $4!
Eyes: I used the lighter color in the concealer palette as a primer to make my eyeshadow pop. Then I used a light satin pink all over my lid from the Revealed 2 palette. With a fluffy brush, I blended a beautiful mauve color from the same palette all over my crease as a transition. I applied this color because goes well with burgundy and pinks.
Eyes: To create a smokey effect I applied a deep matte burgundy color in the outer part following the natural shape of my eye, in my case looks like a little cat-eye. I blended back and forward to create sort of an ombre effect that I absolutely love. I also used the same burgundy in the lower lash line with a smaller brush to continue the smokey effect.
To make my eyes look bigger I applied white liner in the waterline, I love how it looks!
Eyes: I added a cat eye and a little bit of mascara to finish the eye look.
Face: Contour, Blush, and Highlight. I used the blush/bronzer palette with the animal print. I applied the bronzer to create a definition on my cheeks and on the sides of my nose. Then, I used the mauve blush and with a smaller brush, I applied highlight on the higher point of my face including the top of my lips. I have to say…I’m obsessed with this palette because has all in one, definitely a great gift idea for the holidays.
Lips: For lips, I decided to go bold. Yes you can use a nude lipstick, I know this looks fantastic with neutral lipsticks but for the Holidays I like something extra so I decided to use a dark berry color on my lips. I have two satin options, first, lipstick number 8 which is a lighter berry color and the second, my favorite, a deep wine color! It is darker and I think it looks fabulous! Especially if you combine it with gold, sequins, velvet or emerald green outfits!
