Feeling comfortable in our skin has to do with self-esteem and with how we love ourselves. It means taking care of ourselves in every aspect of our life creating a balance that can lift our spirit. That’s why I love to talk about confidence, self-love and, body positivity in my platforms because I’m a firm believer that if you invest in yourself the way you deserve, you will feel more happy and confident.
Story Time:
I used to be very shy (yes, I know is hard to believe lol) that’s why in college I decided to expose myself to new experiences. Experiences that were scary at the time, like singing in front of a big crowd or auditioning for an acting role and you may think but why would you do that if you are not an actress or a singer? Well, because that way I would confront my fears and build my confidence. And you know what? That’s exactly what happened! I remember one time I audition for a talent concert at my college and when I got to the stage I started signing and got so nervous that forgot the song. I managed to finish the song and after that experience, I remember I was embarrassed but also felt liberated because I did something that terrified me! Since that moment I went to many auditions and felt more comfortable and confident in my skin.
What I’ve realized is that feeling comfortable in our skin is more than having pretty hair or the perfect outfit. Is about knowing your worth and believing in your potential because at the end of the day what really matters is how we feel about ourselves. That’s why today I wanted to share with you a few practices that have helped me feel more comfortable in my skin. These are very easy and simple but effective. I hope these are helpful! Let the list begin!
#1 Taking Care of Your Skin & Embracing Your Natural Beauty!

I have learned to embrace my natural beauty and I love it. I used to wear so much makeup and what that did was hiding my real beauty. With time, I’ve realized that is not so much about the makeup is about feeling comfortable without makeup (don’t get me wrong I still love my red lipstick). I like to embrace my skin using The AVEENO® POSITIVELY RADIANT® Collection because is designed to enhance your natural radiance and give you a lit-from-within glow. Each
For my skincare routine I like to use first this Aveeno Positively Radiant Micellar Gel Cleanser, a toner and then a water base moisturizer. For those days where my skin needs extra help I like to use the Aveeno Maxglow Peel off Mask, designed to be easy to use, you just have to apply, let dry, and gently peel off, with no need to rinse. This routine is very easy and practical; great for people like me that has combination to oily skin.
I love that they are accessible products; I bought these at CVS which is my convenient beauty destination! They currently have an offer beginning on 12/16 until 12/30 you can Buy One Get 50% off Select Aveeno at CVS which is fantastic!
#2 Appreciating You and All You DO!
Celebrate your wins and emphasize them. Look at the challenges you have overcome in your day or week and acknowledge the fact that you are making progress in that particular area of your life. This is a way of appreciating all you do and your value. I do this all the time when I forget that I have made progress in different areas of my life and gives me the boost of confidence that I need.
#3 Positive Self-Talk
I don’t allow myself to talk negatively about me or anything I do. I’ve changed the way I talk about myself and that’s why I always say positive words, that’s why this is a practice that I recomend. Also, remember that “a good intention” has power and that’s why is important to use words wisely to lift and construct. As an example of a word I use a lot is “maximize” I added this word to my daily vocabulary because elevates and gives possibilities to what I do. Phrases like “I can, I got this, This opportunity is a great challenge..”
#4 Accept Your Body and Dress for it!
Dressing for your body NOW is an easy way to feel comfortable in your skin. To do it, you have to first accept the body that you have. I’ve known people that buy clothing and say “When I lose 50 pounds, I’m wearing this” and I think that’s great if you want to achieve a goal. But, How about today? You still need to feel great about yourself today. That’s why I invite you to accept, embrace and love the body that you have now and dress for it.
#5 Make an Effort to Look Good!
In the morning, do your hair or put on a nice dress, that simple practice will lift your spirit. The reality is that when you look good you feel good. Making yourself a priority and putting the time (daily) to get ready and look your best will make you start the day in a positive note.
