I just came back from a vacation at Foxwoods in Mashantucket Connecticut and it was fantastic. I live in Rhode Island so we drove and arrived about an hour and a half later. In case you didn’t know Foxwoods Resort Casino is a hotel and casino complex that has everything you can think for a fantastic vacation. The Resort has great places to eat, play and shop, all indoor which means that you don’t need to leave the area. And that’s exactly what Jonathan and I wanted. We needed to relax for a week so I made sure I brought with me everything I needed before I went to the hotel.
Where I Stayed?
I stayed in a Deluxe King Room at The Fox Tower Hotel; the room was spacious, comfortable with a modern décor. The view from our room was stunning! It’s fall season in New England which means all the colors in nature are changing rapidly so we could see beautiful trees in yellow, red, green and it was spectacular. My favorite part of the room was the bathroom because it had a tub with the beautiful view.
The unique fact about Foxwoods is that pretty much everything is connected. The Fox Tower Hotel is connected to the Outlets and the Grand Pequot Hotel. And the Grand Pequot Hotel is connected to The Great Cedar Hotel which makes everything accessible.
Where did I eat?
There are so many options. From Scorpion Bar, if you are craving Mexican Food to the Red Lantern Restaurant. Everything I ate was really good. I went a few times to the Festival Buffet they had a lot of options Italian, Asian, etc. They had alternatives for everyone.
What to Do?
I visited all of the casinos and had a great time. I also went to the Great Cedar Indoor Pool because it was complimentary and the pool at our hotel was closed, I imagine is because the pool in The Fox Tower is outside and the cooler months are finally here. But it was nice that I could visit other pools as part of my stay. They have one indoor pool at The Fox Tower G Spa and Salon but you have to pay $25 so I preferred to visit the indoor pool at The Great Cedar Hotel.
On the other hand, if you are like me you will enjoy the Tanger Outlets Foxwoods, they have great stores and is huge so make sure you bring comfy shoes because there is a lot of walking.
Overall I had an amazing stay at Foxwoods, is a great place to disconnect, relax and have a great time. Recommended!
