All opinions are mine alone. #SeventhGenerationFemCare #CollectiveBias As a body positive blogger I believe in loving ourselves and celebrating who we are. I also believe that part of loving ourselves is taking care of our mind, body and soul. That’s why I always like to talk about topics that lift our spirit and with that purpose, what’s better than talking about self-care!
Self-care is anything that makes you feel good. When it comes to self-care, I can mention 100 things that I do (and probably you too!) that are great alternatives to take care of ourselves. From taking 10 minutes to read a good magazine to having a manicure. While some of those things seem “simple”, those self-love rituals are necessary to create a balance in life. They can change the way you feel in a positive way, give you more energy, etc.
Now, I have realized that sometimes I needed more than just putting on some red lipstick or having a massage. That’s why I decided to change a few things in my self-care routine. Since I have been enjoying the results and how they make me feel, I wanted to share them with you. So, here we go…
Tip #1: Use the Best Feminine Care for Your Body!
If you follow me on YouTube you know I love to try plant-based beauty products! There’s something about using products that I know are good for me that makes me happy. Since my experience using these type of products has been fantastic I decided to use it to improve my feminine care routine using Seventh Generation™ feminine care products. I went to Target and bought first the Seventh Generation™ Comfort Applicator Tampons (18 counts). And after using them for a entire week I have to say, these are the best of the best! They are made with certified Organic Cotton, the BPA-free plastic applicator is made of 95% plant-based materials and is super comfortable. These tampons are hypoallergenic and made for your most sensitive skin with no added fragrances so you don’t have to worry about those things. They also have the regular absorbency and the super absorbency. I use the regular and works great, has an effective leak protection that’s why I feel so confident and comfortable using them!
For those days were I know my period is ending, I like to use the Seventh Generation™ Free & Clear fragrance-free Ultra-Thin Pads with Wings (18 count). The PureFit pads are very comfortable and reliable for those days!
In the other hand for the days when I’m at the park doing my morning walks or doing some cardio, I like to use the Seventh Generation™ Free & Clear pantiliners which are also very comfortable, without chlorine and are always free of fragrances and deodorants, a win-win in my book!
You can buy them on Target.comI buy my Seventh Generation feminine care products at Target and I like to keep them in my handbag because I like to be prepared. I always check Cartwheel first to see if there are any money saving deals. My period is irregular and I feel more relaxed and comfortable knowing that I have great quality products for that time of the month with me on the go! If your are looking to improve your self-care routine during that time of the month using plan-based products, I highly recommend you try these! Remember you deserve the best of the best!
Tip #2: Disconnect to Connect!
I’m a firm believer that in order to feel good, sometimes you need to disconnect to connect. An act of self-love is to know when you need to stay away from social media and the technological connections. I think this was hard for me at first because I am a blogger (I love social media!) and I am always writing something on my phone, taking a picture, having conversations about social media which made it harder to disconnect. But athough it was difficult, I decided that in certain days I’m not going to be on my computer or on my phone. I decided that I’ll have breakfast in a diner simply enjoy a conversation with my boyfriend without my phone on the table.
Since I made that simple but effective change, I’m more calm which makes me feel good because I’m enjoying the simply valuable things in life.
Tip #3: Every week!
I invite you to take care of yourself every week! Whether is something like painting your nails or reading a positive quote every morning, try to make it part of your day. Remember, if you feel good, you look good and are those little things that make a huge difference in our day!
Let me know in the comments, What do you do as part of your self-care routine? I would love to know!
Xoxo, Char
